Maureen FielderMaureen Fielder lived with passion, determination, and generosity. A graduate of Grosse Ile High School, John Carrol University (B.S.), and Marygrove College (Masters in the Art of Teaching), Maureen was an honors student and track star who turned to distance running, completing numerous marathons, including Boston.
A natural educator, Maureen's love of numbers inspired her work as a high school math teacher where she guided hundreds of students to think analytically and truly understand the material. Her mentorship of students carried over from the classroom to track and cross country, where she worked to instill confidence and bring out the best in each individual. Maureen passed away unexpectedly in January 2022. This $2,500 scholarship, established by her family in her memory, will be awarded to a high school or college student who demonstrates the same passion for life, determination, work ethic, and community spirit. |
